ODM Clothing Manufacturing FAQs

How does ODM differ from OEM?

ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) starts with supplier-developed styles that can be adapted to your brief. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) typically follows your supplied designs and specifications.

Do I need a complete tech pack?

A complete tech pack is not always needed to start. Share your references, target market, product requirements and budget so we can discuss the development work required.

Can I customize existing styles?

Customization options may include fabrics, colors, fit, trims, graphics, labels and packaging. Feasibility, minimum quantities and costs depend on the selected style.

Can you develop a coordinated collection?

Share your collection concept, product categories and intended launch schedule. We can assess suitable styles, shared fabrics, colorways and branding details.

Are ODM styles exclusive?

Existing styles may be offered to multiple customers. Any exclusivity, including its duration, territory and sales channels, must be agreed in writing.

Who owns patterns and design files?

Ownership and usage rights for patterns, artwork and technical files depend on the development agreement. Confirm these terms before development begins.

What affects development costs and MOQ?

Key factors include style complexity, fabric availability, custom colors, trims, branding and sampling requirements. Development fees and production costs are assessed separately.

How are sample revisions handled?

Submit consolidated feedback on fit, measurements, materials and construction. Revision scope, timing and any additional charges should be confirmed before work proceeds.

Can you work toward a target cost?

Share your target unit cost and expected order quantity. We can assess fabric, construction and detail options, then discuss practical trade-offs.

How are repeat orders managed?

Repeat orders reference the approved sample and specifications. Material availability, minimum quantities, pricing and delivery schedules are reconfirmed for each order.
